GSAS Graduates and Students win Faculty Positions

Jui-Ch’I, PhD History of Art, was recently appointed as professor and chair of the Graduate Institute for Studies in Visual Cultures at National Yang-Ming University.

Ryan Fealy, PhD expected in October 2013, has begun a position as Assistant Professor in Chemistry at Bucks County Community College where he will be teaching General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and developing an on-line hybrid course for nurses.

Diane Amoroso O-Connor, a current PhD candidate in Greek, Latin and Classical Studies, has been appointed as an adjunct professor at Ursinus College this fall where she will be teaching Elementary Greek and Roman Comedy.

Bryn Mawr’s graduate programs opened many doors to career options for me, for fellow graduate students of my era, and to graduate students I taught from 1980 to 1998. I will review and reflect on domestic and international opportunities and how they remain open for graduates of the current era.  Perspectives gained from faculty hiring and faculty development work at nine domestic colleges and universities and a dozen international universities will be shared as part of an optimistic discussion of the future of higher education and how best to prepare to contribute to that future.
